【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationappliestonuclear-gradeaqueousuranylnitratesolutionorcrystalsnotexceeding5%235UintendedforsubsequentmanufactureintoeitherUF6(forfeedtoanenrichmentplant)ordirectconversiontouraniumoxide(foruseinreactors).1.2Thisspecificationisintendedtoprovidethenuclearindustrywithageneralstandardforaqueousuranylnitratesolutionorcrystals.Itrecognizesthediversityofmanufacturingmethodsandtheprocessestowhichitissubsequentlytobesubjected.Itisthereforeanticipatedthatitmaybenecessarytoincludesupplementaryspecificationlimitsbyagreementbetweenpurchaserandmanufacturer.DifferentlimitsareappropriatedependingonwhetherornottheuranylnitrateistobeconvertedtoUF6forsubsequentprocessing.1.3Thepurposeofthisspecificationis:(a)todefinetheimpurityanduraniumisotopelimitsforcommercialstandarduranylnitrate,and(b)todefineadditionallimitsforreprocesseduranylnitrate(oranymixtureofreprocessedandcommercialstandarduranylnitrate).Forsuchuranylnitrates,specialprovisionsmayneedtobemadetoensurethatnoextrahazardarisestotheemployees,theprocessequipment,ortheenvironment.1.4Thescopeofthisspecificationdoesnotcomprehensivelycoverallprovisionsforpreventingcriticalityaccidents,forhealthandsafety,orforshipping.Observanceofthisstandarddoesnotrelievetheuseroftheobligationtoconformtoallinternational,federal,stateandlocalregulationsforprocessing,shipping,oranyotherwayofusingtheuranylnitrate.AnexampleofaU.S.GovernmentDocumentistheCodeofFederalRegulations(latestedition),Title10,Part50.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
