【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsarerecommendedforelementaryquantificationofthestereologicalpropertiesofporouscoatingsandthesolidsubstratestowhichtheyarebonded.Thesetestmethodsmaybeusefulforcomparativeevaluationsofdifferentcoatingsordifferentlotsofthesamecoating.Allthreemethodsshouldbeperformedonthesameworkingsurface.Astatisticalestimatecanbemadeofthedistributionsofthemeancoatingthicknessandthevolumepercentvoid.Noestimatecanbemadeofthedistributionofinterceptlengthsunlessthevoidisaregulargeometricshapethatcanbedefinedmathematically.1.1Thistestmethodcoversstereologicaltestmethodsforcharacterizingthecoatingthickness,voidcontent,andmeaninterceptlengthofvariousporouscoatingsadheringtononporoussubstrates.1.2Porouscoatingswithsignificantgradientsintheporosityfromthesubstratetothesurfacewillrequireuseofthealternatesampleorientationmethodoutlinedin8.2.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
